Trampoline Workout
A Fun Alternative Cardio Exercise
When I was a kid we had a big trampoline and all of us kids (and the adults) used to play on it all the time. Talk about a great way to get people exercising! A trampoline is a lot of fun but it can also be a great workout. It helps with your balance and your overall strength along with burning a lot of calories.
Be Safe
As much fun as a trampoline can be, they can also be dangerous. In particular, larger trampolines can be quite dangerous. When I was a kid one of my friends broke his arm when he fell off the trampoline and really a much worse injury could occur. You have to be careful when doing a trampoline workout.
Not A Good Workout For Those With Bad Knees
I’ve written some articles about good low impact cardio exercises such as using an elliptical machine or a stationary bike. A trampoline workout is definitely not a low impact workout! It can be quite hard on the joints. It’s really best suited to those who are already in decent shape who want to get a good workout.
Not A Good Workout For The Considerably Overweight
If you are more than 30 or 40 pounds overweight then you probably should choose another option. A trampoline workout is not a good choice for those of you who are considerably overweight. Instead choose a low impact exercise machine such as an elliptical machine, a ski machine, or a stationary bike.

Trampolines For Exercise Benefits
There are many means and ways of exercise, and here we shall examine one of the best and fastest ways to improve ones health in many ways at once, the trampoline.
For many people, the thought of a trampoline conjures up images of acrobats and playing children. While exercise trampolines are smaller and used for different purposes, this image is a good one. Think again of these acrobats and playing children, and think about how fit they are, how their hearts are pumping more efficiently than the kids sitting in front of the television. These same benefits are available to adults who use a trampoline for exercise for a brief period every day, and the results might even be surprising.
When thinking of exercise, one typically thinks first of weight loss. While this is certainly a positive effect of exercise, it is far from the only one, and perhaps not the most significant one either. With trampoline exercise in particular, there are numerous positive effects on the body, and on the mind as well.
Trampoline exercise provides a simple and enjoyable way to help rid the body of toxins and improve the circulatory system. Like all aerobic exercise, trampoline jumping helps to speed up the heart rate and increases the amount of oxygen that saturates the blood with each pump of the heart. This helps with breathing as well. By helping to cleanse the body, trampoline jumping helps to boost the immune system, fighting off the germs and illnesses we are exposed to on a frequent basis. Trampolines are also easier on the joints than most forms of exercise. In addition to all of these benefits, trampoline jumping provides an excellent solution for people who feel that they simply do not have the time to exercise, as 15 minutes of trampoline exercise is the equivalent to 40 minutes of jogging. Because exercise trampolines are small, they can be kept in virtually any room in the house, which means not only can you exercise at any time, but unlike jogging and other outdoor activities, you can exercise in any weather.
In addition to its effects on the body, trampoline exercise has many positive effects on the mind as well. It is fun and enjoyable, which helps to eliminate stress. By exerting the body, you use up excess energy, which can help restore restful sleep and relaxation. As with all exercise, it also releases endorphins, which are well known to help reduce and eliminate depression. In addition to this comes weight loss and physical health, which improve one’s self-esteem.
In conclusion, trampoline exercise has many benefits. It is fun, safe, and a relatively easy way to greatly improve one’s physical and mental health. It can be done alone or with family or friends to help keep you motivated as well as entertained. It is also inexpensive and can be done from home, which makes it a viable alternative for people who do not have access to, time for, or the desire to join a gym. In a world where exercise is becoming a dire necessity, it is helpful to have a method that is both fun and effective, such as an exercise trampoline.

Rebounding Benefits | Mini Trampoline
Rebounding is a widely used trampoline exercise used by many to keep in shape nowadays. Rebounding allows you to achieve a weightless state at the top of each.
Basic Trampoline Tricks
If you own a trampoline, you already know that it is a great way to get out of the house, and into the fresh air. Did you also know that it’s benefiting your health? Jumping up and down on a trampoline is great for strengthening the cardio-vascular system and it is also an excellent workout for almost every muscle and organ of the body. Exercising on a trampoline can also be very helpful for adults and children because it helps to improve reflexes, flexibility, balance and coordination.
One way to enhance not only the fun aspect of the trampoline, but also increase the health benefits, is by putting a little extra effort into your jumping by doing some tricks! There’s lot of tricks that can done on the trampoline, from the beginner level to the advanced. Here’s a few of them beginning with some basics including additional tips to ensure safety and avoid injury.
‘Landing on the Back’ is one of the first, basic trampoline tricks any bouncer should learn and its very simple. Stand motionless on the trampoline with your arms at your sides or even with your hands in your front pockets. Fall backwards onto the trampoline, keeping your body straight and your head up. As your back meets the trampoline, let your head meet it naturally too, don’t jerk or twist it. You will bounce back up and then you can do it again, over and over until you achieve a good rebounding height. The more you practice this trick, the higher you will bounce back and forth!

Here’s an intermediate trampoline trick you can do once you’ve master the basic Back Landing trick. Begin the same way, standing straight and motionless, with arms at your sides or hands in your pockets. Fall straight back again, but when you bounce back up, land on your knees instead! The motion will keep sending you back and forth so you can repeat the trick as many times as you want.
Some advanced trampoline tricks include somersaults and flips. Either of these can be done backwards or forwards, but you should be very comfortable and confident with your bouncing abilities before attempting either of them. Once you’ve got the flip down, you spice it up by adding a spin to it.
Before attempting any trick, ensure everyone’s safety, including your own. Remember to look around and see how much room you have. You will definitely want to avoid a collision with any other jumpers that are on the trampoline with you. To further prevent any mishaps, warm up first by doing some simple bounces and once you get going, remember to keep your head and neck in a natural position. This way you don’t hurt yourself.
Have fun, be safe and keep on bouncing!

Trampoline Exercise
Many health professionals are concerned that adults and children alike are not getting enough exercise. This is a real problem – lack of exercise can lead to serious health problems. Trampolines can provide a good start for those looking for a healthier lifestyle.
Studies have shown that the trend towards having less activity in our days has become particularly pronounced for children. This is viewed as being a particularly worrying issue. With childhood obesity levels rising, we can see signs of the way in which many of our children are living.
Some people move to dismiss such problems as simply being puppy fat – they assure us that children will develop better habits as the grow older. Unfortunately, evidence suggests that this is unlikely to be the case.
A lack of exercise when our kids are young is likely to lead to serious health problems in later life. It’s also the case that habits developed at a young age are likely to continue into adulthood. In other words, if your child is lacking in exercise now then things aren’t likely to get much better as they grow older.
Since we all care about the welfare of our children, such thoughts are naturally worrying. Fortunately, all is far from being lost.

If your children prefer watching television and playing video games to taking exercise then you may need to put in a bit of work to improve the situation, but it’s certainly possible. You can begin by showing them just how much fun can be found by taking part in more active exercises.
It will certainly help if you join in and lead the way. Ideally, you’ll want to find activities that offer good exercise opportunites, while also being great fun. You don’t want exercise to seem like a chore.
Trampolines are an excellent solution to these problems. Many kids love using trampolines and it’s something that you can do as a family. Equally importantly, they are great for exercising.
There’s a wide range of trampolines available and many will fit into your garden. That means that it’s something that can be done at home, in a safe environment.
If you’re worried that your family is not as active as it could be then why not think about getting exercise on a trampoline?

Tips For Fitness Exercise Using Trampoline
Often we are under the misconception that trampolines are limited to children as purely an outdoor entertainment device for children. If you are under this impression than you are greatly mistaken; trampolines provide incredible exercise and still remain tender on the joints.
It has been found through studies that jumping on a trampoline burns more calories than conventional jogging.
Abdominal Exercises
Abdominal exercises have come along way in terms of traditional crunches to complex Pilates moves. However, with all the developments regarding abdominal exercises, they still become tedious and monotonous whereas a trampoline can provide you with an excellent abdominal workout while still remaining entertaining and fun! A vast number of people are under the impression that you have to be on the ground to work one’s abs; however this is not the case. When lying on the floor you are only using your muscles to pull you up when doing sit-ups for instance. The ideal means for shaping and toning your abs is free and always available, it’s gravity! On a trampoline, abdominal exercises use your body weight against gravity, toning your muscles in the process.
Perks of the Trampoline
As exercises such as crunches tend to focus on the upper abdomen you don’t really work the lower abs and oblique muscles, these being the muscles from your chest to your hips, ultimately making your midsection look more toned. There are two variations of movements one can do on a trampoline that work all these muscles in an extremely effective manner.
The Two Variations
The tuck jump is the first and simpler move when dealing with abdominal exercises on a trampoline. The tuck jump requires you to bounce upwards as you normally would; only as you move upwards, against gravity, you bring your knees into your chest as well as your arms. Your abs help immensely in making this move possible. You could also try a move that is a little more difficult but rather effective, known as the pike jump. This move starts off in the same way as the tuck jump but you keep your legs perpendicular to your body and straight instead of bended into your chest.
Bounce Back into Shape!
These two exercises are easy to perform and keep you off the cold, dirty floor as well! You can start off with just a few jumps and gradually increase the amount over time. Abdominal exercises on a trampoline are so effective because they work all of your muscles, including the arms and legs. The exercises on a trampoline also have the factor of fun whereas lying on your back doing repetitive sit-ups can be highly tiresome as well as boring.
If you are in search of abdominal exercises that actually do their job and make a noticeable difference, bounce on a trampoline a watch your abs tighten!

Trampoline Tool Good For Therapeutic
The amount of benefits that one person can reap from a trampoline is certainly nothing short of astounding! There is one benefit in particular that most people are unaware of – the therapeutic benefits of using a trampoline.
Trampolines are ideally suited for therapeutic purposes and have developed a strong trend in recent years, particularly in regard to disability therapy. In fact, trampolines have been employed in a great deal of disabled facilities throughout Germany.
Therapeutic Exercise
The trampoline is an extraordinary fitness device that can be used for various activities, one being rebound exercise for instance, where the sheer movement itself is therapeutic. Seeing as though every part of the body is moving when you are jumping on a trampoline, some doctors say this is a great activity for therapies such as stimulating the lymphatic system and white blood system. Furthermore, it is also stated that trampoline exercise assists in the process of removing toxins and also in the delivery and absorption of nutrients at a cellular level where it is converted into energy.

Health and Therapeutic Benefits of Rebounding Exercise
It has become blatantly obvious that there are scores of benefits to be gained from trampolining. A handful of some of the major benefits of trampolining include the fact that it strengthens each and every muscle, organ, tissue and cell in your entire body. Another is that rebounding also seems to improve your well being in general, leaving you feeling relaxed and revitalised. After using a trampoline you will also begin to notice that your balance and co-ordination have improved, ultimately helping to keep you steady on your feet. It improves blood circulation, increases lymphatic circulation and strengthens your immune system, at the end of the day being extremely invigorating to your happiness. In addition, trampolining carries more oxygen to the brain through increased blood circulation, therefore mental alertness is improved.
Wind Back the Clock
When you are jumping on a trampoline you are being active and lively. It’s known that being inactive can accelerate the aging process substantially, whereas in retrospect, being active can decrease the aging process! By starting your day with a mere 10 – 15 minutes of rebounding exercise you will find that you are much more alert, upbeat and full of energy, resulting in a more dynamic day.
Recently an elderly man broke his hip at the age of 88. He could barely stand or walk for an entire year and needed constant care. He was encouraged to begin rebounding therapy as other programs proved to be unsuccessful. After just two months of rebound therapy his walking improved drastically and he no longer required extra care!
Time and time again trampolines prove to be beneficial in a multitude of areas. Once again, in the terms of trampolines a therapeutic device, they have demonstrated a magnitude of success!

Gymnastic Trampolining

Trampolining is a competitive gymnastic sport with the primary purpose focusing on the execution of acrobatics whilst bouncing on the trampoline. The point system of gymnastic trampolining is relative to the level of difficulty of the jump being performed. There are various kinds of jumps with a few of the basic maneuvers being the tuck, pike or straddle and some of the more complex combinations being backward or forward somersaults and twists. The different categories of competitions consist of Individual Trampoline, Synchronized Trampoline and Double Mini-trampoline.
Competitive Trampolining
After World War 2, the first forms of competitive trampolining began in the United States, reaching Europe by the 1950’s. Soon after in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s, teams doing demonstrations travelled to all continents to perform. This spurred the formation of numerous national federations. The International Trampoline Federation (FIT) was formed in 1962 with seven founder member federations. Since 1962 the number has increased to 42. In 1964, Annual World Championships were being held and by 1969 European Championships began. The Pan Pacific Championships started in 1981 and was held in alternate years. There are also the European Youth Championships which have taken place every other year since 1972. A great amount of attention was drawn to the sport in 1993 due to the introduction of the World Cup event. Television companies began to broadcast live coverage of the events during the 1993-94 series. Trampolining has now been a World Games sport since 1981. A key chapter in the history of trampolining as a sport was when gymnastic trampolining was incorporated in the Olympic Games in 2000.

Periodic Progression
Over time a handful of cultures have invented devices that send a person into the air, ranging from outstretched animal skins used to throw someone into the air and safely catch them upon their landing, to the devices used in circus acts. At present, the technology incorporated into the development of our modern day trampolines is astounding in retrospect to the earlier inventions. Since the prototype apparatus that George Nissen constructed in 1936, the sophistication of the trampoline has undergone significant advancements. Today the most modern trampolines are able to shoot an athlete to the heights of 10m high ceilings. With people able to reach heights as great as this, athletes are now capable of performing triple somersaults with no hassle at all.
Don’t Jump to Conclusions
Trampoline safety has been scrutinized continuously for a long time without real cause. If the correct safety measures are followed while using trampolines that are of suitable quality, one can reap the benefits of safe trampolining. People trying to master a new gymnastic move can appreciate steel frames with stretched material as features such as these are invaluable when providing safe and efficient trampolining. If parents, guardians, teachers and coaches were all aware that these types of trampolines boast advantages that far overshadow the disadvantages, they might not be so reluctant to allow a promising gymnast full usage of one.
Some parents and coaches insist that a maturing gymnast becomes more optimistic after learning and perfecting newly acquired moves. At the end of the day training on a gymnastics trampoline builds confidence and keeps a person in tiptop physical condition.

Trampolining Burns Calories?

Like most exercises, the amount of energy you burn trampolining is dependent on a number of variables such as your weight, the degree of intensity of the exercise, the length of time you exercise and the frequency i.e. daily, weekly etc.
There are two different types of trampoline. The first is the large type that you find in a specialist centre. You will need coaching for this type of activity the same as you would need for any competitive sport, and the activity could certainly develop into something more than a simple augmentation to your weight loss program. The other type of equipment is the rebound trampoline, a small – usually circular – trampoline which is sited only a few inches off the ground. This type of trampoline is excellent for weight loss, it’s use places no stress on your joints, and so there is little chance of injury, it improves circulation and increases the capacity of your heart and lungs.
It also increases your all round strength, stamina and general fitness, and builds up your muscles in the lower body areas of legs, thighs, waist , arms and hips.

Another great aspect of the rebound trampoline is that its use requires no special instruction or training, just set it up and get going! Because of the variables listed above it is difficult to say how many calories trampolining burns, so we can only generalize and say that 30 minutes will burn off somewhere between 100 – 300 calories. It is a well-known fact that trampolining is a favourite exercise of NASA’s and it is used extensively when training astronauts. their extensive research shows that trampolining is actually more effective than running in terms of fitness and weight loss, so it’s definitely one to consider!
As ever, it’s not really the type of exercise you do, it’s the frequency that counts. If you can change your lifestyle so that you are doing 30 minutes’ exercise at least five a days a week you will be well on the road to fitness, health – and weight loss!Due to the small size of a rebound trampoline, it is equally as effective indoors as it is outdoors. Take it outside in the yard and enjoy some sunshine while you exercise, or if the weather is bad, take it inside and watch the latest episode of your favourite soap as you bounce your way to fitness.
If you want a toned body, a slim shape and improved fitness, get bouncing!
